Biography
Alfred
Sife Said, popularly known as Sife, is a Trainee Assistant Librarian at
the Sokoine National Agricultural Library (SNAL), in Morogoro, Tanzania. SNAL also is a Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) library. Currently he is doing M.A (Information
Studies) at the Department of Information Studies, University
of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

He attended primary school in Msimihi from 1982 1988. He started secondary school in 1989 and completed form IV in 1992. In 1993 he went for A-level in the same school up to 1995.
In 1996, Sife entered Sokoine University of Agriculture to start his 3 years studies in BSc. Forestry, where he graduated in 1999. In the same year he worked in the Department of Wood Utilization, SUA as a research Assistant up to May 2000 when he was employed as Trainee Assistant Librarian at SNAL. In his undergraduate studies, Sife undertaken a project on the "Basic density and strength properties of Cordia Africana (an indigeneous tree) grown in agroforestry systems in Lushoto, Tanga, Tanzania", which then the paper was presented to the SUA University Wide Scientific Workshop in April, 2000.
Sife married on February 10, 2001, to Faith-Neema. The couple is living in Kihonda, Morogoro, Tanzania.
Sife is an avid reader, enjoys singing Christian choir, managing trees and watching football and he likes Manchester United.
